Azadi Mubarak Ho !!!

Dear All,

Belated Happy Independence Day (72nd)

Like all of you, even I was busy posting the updates on Whatsapp and Facebook about my country India, photos of our beloved Indian Flag and quotation to show that even though " My name is Khan, I am not at all a Terrorist ". Busy day infact, with my social media world. All the likes and comments and what not. It was around 11:50 pm, almost midnight 15th August, when I came across the above picture and my life came to a standstill.

" EQUALITY OF STATUS AND OPPORTUNITY AND TO PROMOTE THEM AMONG ALL"

A true Indian we are, isnt? We love our nation which can be easily proved from our respective social media pages, how concerned we are about our nation, great indeed. Guys, have you ever stopped a beggar (specially a child) on streets and asked them about the meaning of the word  INDEPENDENCE ? Have you ever asked them whether they feel proud of living in a country who is celebrating the 72nd year of INDEPENDENCE? I am afraid you haven't , because you are running out of time because of your so called " Busy " social world.

For these people (child beggars) almost all the National Holidays is a special day because they get a lot of crowd around areas such as malls, parks and other amusement places. They get more chances of being paid something by someone or the other. Some packets of food and snack thrown here and there, some kind hearted entities (still alive on Earth) feeding them as a token of love and many more probabilities as such.

My concern is not the Celebration of our Independence but rather the word "Independence" in its true sense. What have we done for them in the last 72 years? Why are they still seen on the roads day in and day out to sustain their livelihood instead of so much schemes running around? Is Independence only for those who have money in their pockets? Why are they unaware that they have to celebrate their Independence rather than begging ? And many such questions struck me hard while I was trying to sleep. I spent the whole day enjoying with my friends and family, ate outside, saw movie, etc but then this picture was a great set-back for me.

We are really annoyed sometimes when we see a Child begging around us, asking for money or food. Sometimes even I have seen people cursing them and even abusing them for what they are. Guys, actually they weren't notified by Almighty that they are taking birth at a place where they will have to earn their food right from day ONE.  A do or die situation, either you beg or die of starvation, so Please forgive them. And even then if you want to curse or abuse, do so for their parents, even though they knew they are giving birth to a baby only to have some more helping hands to beg, they didn't felt ashamed at all.

My Economics teacher while I was in Class 9th, taught me that " POVERTY IS A VICIOUS CYCLE " i.e Poverty leads to Poverty. It is after so many years that I understood it Why? But how can you only blame the Executive Body? Aren't each one of us responsible for the same? Can't we be a helping hand in eradicating this POVERTY deep rooted in a country like ours. From our busy schedule of reading, liking & commenting on posts on social media, can we take out some precious time, some extra effort for these CHILDREN, who don't even know that they are a part of Independent India.

Believe me, it is not a one day show. Giving food to any beggar or providing them with some amount will provide them with temporary happiness, you are not curing the wound permanently. And Yes, it is true that it isn't a single army game, we all have to collectively work and save the most important resource of our country, the Human Resource. A step taken ahead by each one of us can be beneficial for them, only if we are concerned about them, rather being concerned about our posts, likes and comments.

It's the high time and we need to start from our respective places. Think of something through which you can save the Life of these masses and help them grow, live their life and make a meaningful livelihood, begging should never be a option for them.

LIBERTY OF THOUGHT, EXPRESSION, BELIEF, FAITH AND WORSHIP

Let's take a pledge post this 72nd Celebration that Each of one will take a Positive Deviation towards making out something fruitful for these masses out there, not for temporary basis but permanently and we all must work for it, with the thought of "SARVE BHAVANTU SUKHINAH, SARVE SANTU NIRAMAYAH, SARVE BHADRANI PASYANTU, MAA KASICHIT DUKHBHAG BHAVETAH "

It is only then we will be Celebrating our Independence, with a sense of understanding among all, and believe me , I am not at all talking of any IDEAL FORM rather it is the NEED OF THE HOUR.

So guys, all those hooked up with their social sites, please visit outside your den and start working today. Let's work together so that one day all of us can proudly say that " Azadi hum sab ko Mubarak ho !!! "
