The Unsaid Pain :(
Today I went to have an X-Ray of my Spinal Cord as prescribed by a doctor. After waiting for a while came my number. The attendant asked me to remove my clothes and lay down straight for the X-Ray. His words rang in my ears and for a second but I couldn't get what was he saying. He repeated again "Sirji, kapde khol lijiye and sidhe ho kar lete jayeye". I felt ashamed for a while and then started to undress myself. I was sure for what reason I was getting undressed but still as I was removing my clothes, I started to feel uncomfortable. Finally I got undressed with only my underwear on my body. I was shivering from inside. I was ashamed of lying down and everything was putting a lot of pressure on my mind. A thought popped up just then and then the last thing I remember after the X-Ray was " Bhaiya ji, ho gaya kapde daal lo"
The thought that struck me was that of the Prostitutes, The Women spending their whole life in RED LIGHT Area.
Guys, with no offence to any idea or notion, any rule or any law ,just thinking of them for a while, I felt ashamed. Even though I didn't face the exact situation that they face everyday, the pain they undergo, but still getting undressed for the X-Ray in front of someone unknown, taught me a lot. Have we ever thought how awkward or weird the situation appears before them getting undressed in front of someone who is many a times not even in his senses and then having sex only for a small amount of money. How insecure their life is? The worst trade indeed, the trade of their body only because She was born in a poor family or somehow got trapped in this web. Believe me, no women/girl gets into this business willingly. Some of the factor for sure force those women to sell her body, most probably to feed herself and her family. How cruel can someone be, only to satisfy your lust, you are ready to ruin someone's life? Only because you can't feel her pain, you have no right to treat her the way you want. Just imagine yourself in her place or someone from your family, how awful it is.
I never gave a second thought to this notion until I felt the same today and so is the case with many. Guys, it is the time to wake up. Is this the Development and Women Empowerment that we are talking about? How can a law allow a lady to get undressed in front of someone unknown? Why can't we find an alternative for those women? Or shall we be numb forever towards this happening in front of our eyes?
Time has come because it is now an alarming situation. We should never feel shy to talk and find a solution for these women because if you feel shy in doing so just think of those who have to face it in real. About their pain, their situation, their needs and demands and after all the most important is their well being. Try visiting Red Light area near you not to have sex, but rather to know about the real condition of these ladies. Let's take a step ahead to save them from this hell, Let's urge the Government in power, making schemes for the masses out there to have a Committee constituted even for this grim problem, a law made and fastened implementation.
Thanks to my X-Ray today, it taught me a hell lot of things. The time has come to save the humanity and the best way to do so is by raising our voices, together only WE can. Let's start our fight to protect such masses from being raped daily, time and again. We need to step ahead for their betterment, so that no one calls a Prostitute by a special name and even they acquire an equal respect in the society.
